Awareness-Raising
Reaching out to potential leaders to help
transform society
Awareness-raising plays a central part in Artemisia's work, exposing more and more people to the principles of Social-Business Ventures and contributing to greater possibilities for a shift in the way our society views and uses its economy.
Leadership Academy is the major awareness-raising program of Senegal, gathering a variety of audiences around initiatives presented in a large annual event. In Brazil, the Programa Diálogos de Empreendedorismo (Entrepreneurship Discussion Program) includes events that target students, entrepreneurs and youth leaders. In ESF-France, two key programs provide students and entrepreneurs with several seminars and skill-building initiatives.

Personal Development for Entrepreneurs
Entrepreneurs who want to change the world first need to change themselves
Artemisia makes key investments in participants' personal and leadership development. With this support, entrepreneurs connect with their entrepreneurial motivation and use it to help unleash the most effective strategies for tackling social and environmental challenges. They also learn to handle their own strengths and weaknesses, and to develop collaborative leadership skills that will influence the future success of their venture.
Every activity of Artemisia's programs in Brazil, Senegal and France aims at raising awareness and developing leaders. To this end, both the selection process and the technical trainings include moments and activities to ensure participants reflect on their personal challenges and motivations.

Venture Planning and Experimentation
The journey from an idea to a Social-Business Venture
Planning is an important strategy for the success of any venture, but it becomes crucial when creating a new social-business model. Artemisia supports entrepreneurs to develop a strategic and integrated vision around social and business elements. By doing so, they can design innovative Social Business Plans that are instruments for shaping a better world.
In Artemisia's three locations, developing a business plan goes well beyond technical aspects. In Expedição Artemisia (Artemisia Expedition), the organization's key program in Brazil, during six months participants receive specific training and are stimulated to research and experiment while writing each chapter of their business plans. Likewise, the Promise Senegal and ESF-France programs provide their respective participants with challenges, solutions and inspiration from a wide variety of sources.

Entrepreneur-Student Collaborations
Uniting worlds to learn and launch ventures
Artemisia believes different realities may come together to find new ways of working, and thus unites university students and entrepreneurs to jointly develop ventures. Together they learn and are challenged to further their business targets and visions, while developing those skills required to complement their team work.
The Expedição Artemisia and ESF-Ile-de-France programs of Brazil and France, respectively, are an opportunity for different realities from a same region to meet. In the ESF-Dakar, which is part of Senegal Promise Program, participants gather in an intercontinental event. These initiatives ensure different people cooperate and work collectively, thus bringing creativity into the building of business plans.

Venture Implementation
New ventures needs differentiated support
Based on their achievements during the venture planning phase, Artemisia selects the most promising yet underfunded entrepreneurs and Social-Business Ventures to accompany during crucial periods of the venture lifecycle, in which they benefit from coaching on leadership issues, contact with potential partners and investors, inclusion in the Artemisia network, technical and managerial guidance as well as direct financial investment.
The Brazilian Expedição Artemisia Program contemplates a longer stage during which social ventures are implemented, including a series of benefits for selected business plans. This process is replicated in the Promise Senegal Program once business plans are developed. In ESF-France, on the other hand, the program connects entrepreneurs to local investors.

Artemisia Entrepreneurs Network
Jumpstarting the movement for social business
Within the Artemisia Network, entrepreneurs are encouraged to work together independently of socioeconomic status or race in order to reinforce each other in their convictions and identify solutions to common venture dilemmas. They also help to spread the word about social business by speaking at conferences, running workshops and making themselves available for media coverage. As greater critical mass is achieved, so is greater potential for creating change on a larger scale.
